Dance Division Levels of Study

Elementary Ballet | Teacher Recommendation

Elementary Ballet is for students who have advanced from Level 1B, placed by teacher recommendation, who wish to continue their study of ballet at a one class per week commitment. Class begins with conditioning exercises, followed by barre work and finishing with center work. Proper technique, alignment and class etiquette are emphasized. This class meets for 90 minutes. Students can expect to spend several years in this level mastering the material. Elementary Ballet coursework is similar to Pre-Professional Division Level 2. 

Intermediate Ballet | Teacher Recommendation

Intermediate Ballet is for students who have advanced from Elementary Ballet, placed by teacher recommendation, who wish to continue their study of ballet at a one class per week commitment. Class includes barre work, center work and conditioning exercises. Proper technique, alignment and class etiquette are emphasized. This class meets for 90 minutes. Students can expect to spend several years in this level mastering the material. Intermediate Ballet coursework is similar to Pre-Professional Division Level 3 & 4.

Advanced Ballet | Teacher Recommendation

Advanced Ballet is for students who have advanced from Intermediate Ballet, placed by teacher recommendation, who wish to continue their study of ballet as little as one class per week commitment. Class includes barre work, center work and conditioning exercises. Proper technique, alignment and class etiquette are emphasized. This class meets for 90 minutes. Students can expect to spend several years in this level mastering the material. Dance Division Advanced Ballet students are combined with certain Pre-Professional classes under the recommendation and discretion of the Artistic Director. Advanced Ballet coursework is similar to Pre-Professional Division Level 5 & 6.

Beginning Tween & Teen Ballet | Ages 11+

Beginning Tween & Teen Ballet is for the older beginning ballet student. The basics of ballet are introduced, with proper technique, alignment and class etiquette emphasized. This class meets for 90 minutes, one time per week. Students can expect to spend several years in this level mastering the material. 

Stretch & Strength | Ages 8+

Stretch & Strength class incorporates traditional stretching, Yoga and Pilates to create the perfect compliment to a ballet dancer's training -  especially for the dancer that struggles with flexibility and/or strength. 

Beginning Hip-Hop | Ages 6-8

Beginning Hip-Hop is an introduction to this fun and high-energy dance style. Hip-Hop basics are introduced. This class meets for 60 minutes, one time per week.

Tween Hip-Hop | Ages 8-12

Tween Hip-Hop is a beginning to intermediate level exploration of this fun and popular dance style.  This class meets for 60 minutes, one time per week.

Teen Hip-Hop | Ages 13+

Tween Hip-Hop is a beginning to intermediate level exploration of this fun and popular dance style. This class meets for 60 minutes, one time per week.

Tween & Teen Jazz | Ages 11+ 

Tween & Teen Jazz introduces the jazz movement style and terminology. Students in this class are ideally Level 3 or Intermediate Ballet and higher. This class meets for 60 minutes, one time per week.

Fusion | Teacher Recommendation

Fusion class teaches three different dance styles on a monthly rotation. This is the perfect class for our Pre-Professional Division students who have full ballet schedules, or the Advanced Ballet student.  This class meets for 60 minutes, one time per week.
