Bay Area Ballet Conservatory's Youth Division is comprised of three divisions, Primary, Dance and Pre-Professional.
Our Primary Division is comprised of our first 5 levels of ballet study. Each level builds the foundation of classical ballet study, with each level increasing in difficulty. The traditions, techniques and disciplines of classical ballet are introduced an age-appropriate manner. Our Beginning Kid's Hip Hop is also part of the Primary Division.
Placement in our Creative Movement, Pre Ballet 1, and Pre Ballet 2 levels are primarily based on a student's age and maturity. Most children that are in first grade and higher will be placed directly in to our Level 1A class.
Creative Movement is a non-performing class. Performing opportunity available for Pre Ballet 1 level and higher.
Our Dance Division is comprised of four levels of ballet study, Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced and Beginning/Intermediate Tween & Teen, as well as some of our other dance classes. Each Dance Division class requires only a one time per week commitment, perfect for the recreational dancer.
Placement is determined by teacher recommendation for existing students or by a complimentary placement/trial class for new students.
All classes participate in our year-end Student Concert, with exception to Stretch & Strength class.
*Pre Professional Division students may add any appropriate Dance Division classes to their schedule*
Pre Professional Division
Our Pre Professional Division is for dancers who wish to dedicate themselves to their dance training on a more committed level. This division is suited for the student whose goal is a professional career in dance and/or to reach their fullest potential. Students thrive in our program that offers individualized attention, a nurturing environment and a professional faculty. Students can expect to spend multiple years in each level mastering the material.
Excellent attendance and effort is expected.
All Pre Professional Division classes participate in our year-end Student Concert performance, with exception to Variation/Repertoire, Pre Pointe and Beginner Pointe classes. Students in Level 4A and higher have increased performance opportunities within Bay Area Ballet Conservatory's Youth Company.
