We’re casting men and women for the roles of Party Parents, Mr. & Mrs. Stahbaum, and The Grandparents for our 2025 Nutcracker Production!

Casting:

We’re casting men and women of all ages for Bay Area Youth Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. Stage and/or dance experience a plus….(and if that was a lifetime ago, it still counts!) All coaching will be provided during the rehearsal process. This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity.

Rehearsal Dates: (Rehearsals are primarily held on Friday evenings starting at 7 pm. Rehearsals will typically not go past 8:30 pm. Most rehearsals for Party Parents will be 1 hr in length. Depending on progress, a few rehearsals below may be cancelled if not needed.)

  • Friday, Oct 24 - Party Parent Rehearsal

  • Friday, Oct 31 - Halloween – No Rehearsals

  • Friday, Nov 7 - Party Scene Rehearsal (Parents + Kids)

  • Friday, Nov 14 - Party Scene Rehearsal (Parents + Kids)

  • Friday, Nov 21 - Party Scene Rehearsal (Parents + Kids)

  • Friday, Nov 28 - Thanksgiving Break – No Rehearsals

  • Sunday, Nov 30 - Afternoon Party Scene Rehearsal - All

  • Friday, Dec 5 - Party Scene Rehearsal - All

  • Saturday, Dec 6 - Rehearsal – In Studio “crash test” run in costumes, approx 1:30pm-2:30pm

Theatre Rehearsal Dates:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 9 - Stage Rehearsal - Evening @ Skyline College

  • Wednesday, Dec. 10 - Dress Rehearsal # 1 - Evening @ Skyline College

  • Thursday, Dec. 11 - Dress Rehearsal # 2 - Evening @ Skyline College

Performance Dates:

  • Friday, Dec. 12 - Performance # 1 - Evening @ Skyline College

  • Saturday, Dec. 13 - Performance # 2 - Afternoon @ Skyline College

  • Sunday, Dec. 14 - Performance # 3 - Afternoon @ Skyline College

Costuming:

  • Women will need to provide their own ballet tights and character shoes. Details on where to find items will be provided. Costume dress will be provided.

  • Men will need to provide their own black suit pants, white dress shirt and black dress shoes (preferably not loafer style). Other items (suit jackets/coats, vests will be provided.)
